Senior Pennants Round Three

Both divisions were away again. Orange at Kennedy Bay and White at Rockingham. All teams have won their home matches and lost their away matches. With both Orange and White at home next Monday hopefully this pattern will continue. Orange against Mandurah and White against Royal Perth.

Orange lost to Kennedy Bay 4 to 1. The only successful winner being Neil Leach and Sam Khamhing winning 2up, well done.

White lost to Rockingham 3 to 2 in a thriller with both teams having two matches each with Rockingham winning the final game on the last hole. Wins to Terry Lees and John Kenwright 3 and 2 while Phil Nicolaides and Gary Marks won 4 and 3.

Frank Caroleo and Fred Eggert going all the way to the last hole to unfortunately not to be successful.

Well done guys.

Senior Pennants Round Two

What a difference a week makes especially when playing away. After bathing in glory at home last week the tide turned.

Orange Division were defeated at Kwinana 4 to 1 and White Division were taken apart at Gosnells 5 to Nil. The only winners were Terry Reid and Mike Marshall of Orange Division with a 2up win.

Orange Division captain Mike Voss said “although Kwinana had sanded their greens recently, they were faster than Pinjarra, and it caused players issues”

Gosnells had an Amateur Tournament over the weekend and the greens were quite slippery with the pins in some uncompromising positions causing Pinjarra players to putt well past the holes with their first putts. When all players had finished and I had viewed our scores it felt like 1876 all over again, by this I mean Custer at the Little Bighorn, well and truly ambushed.

All teams are on 2 points.

Senior Pennants Opening Game

Monday was opening day for Senior Pennants with both Michael Voss’s Orange division and Stan Bartley’s White division both playing at home.

Both teams bringing home the bacon with Orange a 3 to 2 winner against Kwinana and White a 3 ½ to 1 ½ winner against Gosnells.

There were good performances from both our teams with Orange players Keith Abbott and Brad Russell winning by a commanding 8 and 7. Mike Pollock and Ken Butler close behind with a 5 and 4 win.

Good performances from the White team included John Kyle and Phil Nicolaides winning 6 and 5. Glen Lever and Stan Bartley 6 and 5 as well.

Both teams are equal top, but both second on percentage.

Well done all players that participated.
